Ecobank Transnational Inc. is one of the largest African banking conglomerates, covering the work of 36 African countries.

The turnover of ETI is of the order of several billion dollars.

Objective

For customers of this scale, every little thing that is relevant to the safety of the use of the system or ease of use is critical.
Consequently, our goal was to create an application covering the key aspects of the activities of this giant, fully satisfying the advanced requirements of security, performance and autonomy.

Idea

The created application combines 4 large sections, each of which could represent a separate site.
The primary task in creating a corporate system for ETI was to ensure a high level of access and customer security. Applied methods that provide autonomous protection against intruders include spam filters that control several levels of access, protection against all sorts of injections, the use of the latest versions of the protected protocol. The measures taken allow customers of the bank to use the system without fear of exposing the data to compromise or theft.

Much work has been done to create client forms. Forms are needed to create entities that embody the different roles of bank customers, for example, a registration form for a small business entity, a client registration in the research section with a subscription to the system’s news portal, or a checking account registration. Due to the forms created, the client may not visit the bank branches, but rather perform the actions he needs remotely, as quickly and conveniently as possible. Creating convenient, non-irritating customer forms is something of an art form, and we coped with this at the highest level.

Marketing blocks are one of the key parts of the bank’s information policy and an important visual component of the site. The emphasis in creating the blocks was made to maximize compliance with the visual style of the site and the integrated advertising and information blocks, unobtrusive, but high efficiency.

Much work has been done on creating sections that visualize the bank’s financial activities, key information about assets and analytics. These pages allow customers to be aware of the state of the bank, its financial and credit indicators, to trust it when creating accounts for themselves and their families. Much time was spent on creating investment and loan calculators that allow customers to quickly obtain the necessary information about the profitability of credit and financial transactions.

Since ETI is one of the largest financial conglomerates, processing feedback from customers is a very laborious task for it. We were faced with the goal of ensuring prompt response from users, processing their opinions on the convenience and functionality of the system. After analyzing the current state of affairs, feedback forms and analytical tools were created. Analytics is a separate section of the site, which presents statistics, including both positive and more important - negative customer reviews, as well as visualization of the effectiveness of the bank's customer support department.

Results

For the implementation of customer requirements, a system was developed consisting of the following modules:

1. Security. Much work has been done to ensure the security of the system. The latest version of TLS has been integrated, and measures have been taken to prevent spam, hacker attacks, and various injections.
In AZN CMS 2.0, a transition to HTTP2/0 is planned to provide enhanced security (requirements for TLS, encryption key) and page loading speed. Advanced features to prevent ddos and spam attacks.
At the moment, at the design stage, our anti-fraud system is in place, which allows us to evaluate users' actions in the system and rank them on a scale of suspicion. This system can track the usual form filling, as well as the process of creating new accounts, issuing loans or conducting transactions. The anti-fraud system includes a module based on a pattern of behavior of a specific user and allows you to signal situations when the behavior goes beyond the border deviant (becomes suspicious).

2. User and Role Administration Module
The module is designed to provide users with access to various sections and subsections of the application. With the help of the module, delegation of authorities of system administrators is provided. Examples include feedback modules, FAQ, sections of the site, tied to specific countries and departments of the bank.
The AZN CMS 2.0 module is integrated with advanced settings and bindings functionality, which allows regulating access not only to specific sections of the system, but also to individual components of the pages.

3.The module of the process of opening accounts (AOP) is one of the most important modules of the system, which ensures uninterrupted operation of the functionality of registration of bank customers. The module is built taking into account the collected user experience of customers of the system. The AOP Settings Panel allows you to change and add requirements for opening a specific account. Requirements include a set of fields, their types, required documents and optional / mandatory filling.
AZN CMS 2.0 - the form of opening accounts supports the maximum degree of flexibility provided by the advanced form designer, which allows you to create any number of fields, links between them and regulate the requirements for the filling format.

4. Marketing module. This module was designed to increase the efficiency of placing additional information provided to customers on innovations, promotions, changes. The client (the owner of the application) is able to independently place this module where it sees fit.
AZN CMS 2.0 - the marketing unit will acquire additional visual design, built on the new UX standards. An additional possibility is added to customize the style and content of marketing units.

5. Module publications. The module belongs to one of the main ones in the system and allows you to fill the application with diverse content. Examples are news, press releases, informational tapes, documents, and any other set of information grouped on a specific basis.
AZN CMS 2.0 - publications module allows you to collect your own set of data and images, indicating the types of fields for each individual category.

6. Module locations. This module includes the ability to import, export and edit branches, offices and ATMs. Components have a high degree of flexibility of settings and can be either a map, a table, or a combination of them. Supports search, filtering, clustering.

7. Module management pages and menus. The module was created to provide the ability to create virtual pages of the site and place links to these pages from the menu.

8. Regional content module. The module is designed to administer information of regional offices / offices.

9. Module email / sms mailing. Module integration is necessary for distribution, confirmation of registrations, additional information.

10. Feedback module and FAQ. One of the main modules of the system, ensuring the accumulation of user experience and work on the bugs.
