The pandemic and telecommuting have accelerated the transition of the vast majority of companies to cloud services, with particular business interest in easy scaling, flexibility, and collaborative tools which any cloud vault usually has.
Here’s what a cloud partner can provide you with:
- Scaling and fault tolerance;
- storage of structured and unstructured data on the required scale due to available capacity
- computation;
- maintenance of infrastructure, operating systems and applications which allow staff to concentrate on business needs;
- telecommuting which makes information available from any gadget anywhere;
- reduced costs of hiring specialists for the operation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure.
USA
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the American leader. Amazon has a wide range of cloud products. They offer clients computing services, repositories, databases, analytics tools, network technologies, mobile services, development tools, management tools, Internet Thing technologies, security tools and corporate applications. In the third quarter of 2021, AWS controls 32% of the world’s cloud market. Microsoft Azure and Google also belong to Top 3 companies including Amazon.
However, such a "dominance" has its disadvantages: if a failure occurs, the work will be stopped in hundreds of popular sites, services and applications, and the company itself will suffer from huge financial losses.
Europe
In addition to the "big three" companies (AWS, Microsoft and Google), local companies use the services of IBM, Salesforce and, for example, OVHcloud.
OVHcloud is French company. It is considered to be one of the largest cloud providers in Europe, as well as a renowned hosting service provider. OVHcloud offer solutions for public and private usage, VPS, dedicated server, and various corporate products related to big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
The company’s 30 data centres cover 183 countries on five continents. It also designs and builds its own fibre-optic network.
Russia
The Russian cloud market is fairly competitive. Here, AWS is not as popular as in the West. There are no data centers in the country, and this brand is not quite familiar to Russians. Russia has got its local cloud storages.
For example, Itglobal.com specializes in the provision of private cloud services with extensive scaling and self-service capabilities as well as enhanced security.
The company’s solution is available on its own machinery, on the client’s technology stack and in combination with any other cloud infrastructure to create a “cloud hybrid” and expand computing power.
China
IT giants around the world consider digital business transformation a priority. The Chinese company Alibaba has its own huge cloud system. It is the largest cloud storage provider in the Chinese region: the platform owns 50% of the industry.
The company’s cloud business grows every year. Client geography of Alibaba Cloud is the whole world, but mainly there are the representatives of fintech, retail and IT. In 2021, the platform’s revenues from public and hybrid cloud services significantly increased.
The company’s head stated that Alibaba’s cloud strategy was not based on the IaaS model, it was to increase the company’s capacity: «The cloud gives companies the ability to use large amounts of data and cloud computing power. Many kinds of algorithms and analytics have to be developed for different products, solutions in the cloud vault. It is not only about saving costs on IT infrastructure, but also about increasing capacity».
Australia
The top of Australian cloud favorites is similar to the American one; they are Microsoft, Google Cloud Platform, and Amazon. The latter, for example, signed a contract with local authorities in 2019. Since then all state corporations, federal agencies and other state agencies use AWS cloud services.
The Oracle Cloud platform is also quite common in the country. Customers from 195 countries handle more than 55 billion transactions on a daily basis, and Oracle services are used by such companies as FedEx, AirAsia, Heineken Urban Polo.
Migration to the cloud storage was a huge risk 10 years ago, and now this is the main demand that modern economics expects from businesses. The market is moving towards resource optimization, flexibility and shared responsibility among all players. Thus, the configuration and maintenance of technical components increasingly takes on cloud service. The amount of data stored in the clouds increases every year, and business is happy to have such opportunities: all processes accelerate, the cost of maintenance and support decreases. If you are interested in competitive business and advanced technology, the cloud should become your natural habitat.
